Dead Poets binder front thing

I SWEAR TO GOD THE ORIGINAL SKETCHES ARE NOT THIS HORRIBLE!!!! I JUST FAIL AT INKING!!!


Okay. New semester, new binder cover. I spent like NO time on this. This'll probably be my last submission for a LONG time. Things are gonna be INSANE this semester. (ONE free during the entire week, plus choir. I'm gonna die!)

Okay. So. I'm going into the semester knowing it's gonna SUCK, so I made this for myself to make me happy. I'll explain as much of it as I can.

Group shot at the bottom: The "Flits of Welton/Hell-ton". Neil, Todd, Meeks and Charlie (left to right). I'm SURE those three are gay. (Except for Charlie...who just loves everything.) NeilxTodd, CharliexMeeks. I wubbs them all!...Each has a quote from the movie...my favorite for each of them. (Charlie: "Damn it Neil. The name is Nuwanda." // Meeks: "Welcome to Hell-ton." // Todd: "YAWP!!!" (DERR!!!) // Neil: "This desk-set wants to fly.") If "flit" is offensive I'm sorry. But hey, it's all '50s-ish and whatnot!

Quote along the left side: "O Captain! My Captain! (Captain = read: Neil)" Have you ever read "O Captain! My Captain!"? The speaker is SO Todd, addressing Neil.

Chibis up top: There's a scene of symbolic foreshadowing that was in an earlier draft of the script that ended up getting cut. After Mr. Perry forbids Neil to do the school annual Neil stabs himself with a pin in the finger, drawing blood. Todd flinches and Neil doesn't. Foreshadowing of events to come. If Todd had done something, like give Neil a band-aid, the entire end of the movie would have been different.

"AND STILL WE SLEEP." The "refrain" to Todd's poem, which he reads aloud in an earlier draft of the script the night of Neil's suicide. Neil actually reads the first line aloud in the movie, as Todd is chasing him. ("We are dreaming of a--Poetry! I'm being chased by Walt Whitman!")

Yes I AM a Dead Poets dork! I LOVE that movie! If you’ve seen that movie, you know me. I’m not even kidding. I’m a mix of Neil and Todd….which is weird, but not really. They’re more alike than most people think….THEIR LOVE IS SO CANON!!! ><
